Acrylic Foam Tapes

Acrylic foam tape is a high-durability bonding double coated adhesive tape designed for long term and high temperature applications. The most well-known acrylic foam tapes on the market are 3M™’s Very High Bond (VHB™) series which is a flexible and convenient solution for high-intensity environments that require indestructible, permanent fastening.

A standard double sided foam tape is constructed like a sandwich with a layer of foam in between thin layers of adhesive on either side, whereas an acrylic foam (VHB™) tape is made entirely of extruded, foamed adhesive to create a single cohesive mass. This gives acrylic foam tapes a much stronger bond than regular foam tapes whilst being easier to apply than two-part structural adhesives, other benefits include:

• being flexible so it can conform to fill every nook and cranny of textured surfaces
• surface adhesion occurs across the whole substrate making it stronger and more durable over time
• providing a seal ensuring environmental factors don’t affect the bond
• the ability to bond to various different substrates depending on the grade of tape used
